Hyde Bedroom

The Hyde Bedroom is a grand suite occupied by the Earl of Carmarthen himself. It is a coolly decorated room with steel blue and silver wall panelling, thick beige carpet and a mighty four poster bed. An intricate dark wood desk stands to one side, and is usually covered with papers of Lord Carmarthen's business affairs. A few small paintings adorn the walls, but none so extravagant as found elsewhere, reflecting Lord Carmarthen's more austere tastes.

Swan Bedroom

Lady Carmarthen's bedroom is one of ice blue plume wallpaper and pale greenish carpeting. The bed is grand and intricate with golden designs winding up the four posters and heavy white material draping from them. An elegant dressing table faces out towards the high arched windows and large mirrors reflect light across the airy, cool room. Lord Carmarthen used to be in here more often than the Hyde bedroom, but nowadays less so.

Somerfield Bedroom

Lady Elizabeth's bedroom is not particularly gaudy or extravagant with subtle ivory wall coverings and a rose carpet partially concealed under a large, Turkish-style rug. The furnishings are all polished wood and fairly simple in design, though the four poster has intricate woodwork on closer inspection. The hangings on the bed and the thin, floaty curtains are both a soft shade of gold, and the few paintings on the walls have pretty gilded frames.

Chantilly Bedroom

The Chantilly bedroom is opulently decorated with rich red wall coverings and a scarlet carpet and curtains. The mahogany wood of the four poster bed is offset by gold detailing and ivory hangings and bedlinen. Two enormous portraits with ostentatious gold frames hang on the walls and a large golden mirror is placed above the dressing table with its red velvet stool. The ceiling panels are very white against the rich colours of the walls. Naturally, this room belongs to Lady Katherine.

Lake Bedroom

A smallish but very elegant bedroom of dark blue and white wall design and a royal blue carpet serves as Viscount Edward's quarters. The bed is large with crisp white hangings and linens and the polished wood is clearly high quality. An understated desk resides in one corner while a packed bookshelf occupies the other. The large windows make the room airy, framed only by heavy dark blue curtains.

Cézanne Bedroom

Lady Annabel's room is a small but pretty one of pale yellow walls and a beige carpet. The bed has slender posts and floaty green hangings at its head, and the covers are a soft gold. There are few furnishings in the room, and the required dressing table tends to be used as a writing desk by the young occupant. A few animal-themed paintings hang on the walls with cheerfully polished wooden frames.
