Appearance
Tristan is of tall stature, he stands at six foot tall. He is the second tallest of the men in his family. Only being out ranked by his eldest brother, Nathaniel who is two inches taller than him. Tristan has blonde hair just like everyone in his family but his hair is more of a dirty blonde than the lighter blonde of most of his family members. His hair always seems to have a tousled about look to it even when it has been brushed or taken care of.
Just like the rest of Tristan's family he has blue eyes but his eyes are a darker blue and they have a slight hint of green. His sister describes them as the color of the ocean during a storm. Tristan is muscular but is not bulky his muscles are lean. He has great upper body strength. He likes to be physically active in everything he does.
When it comes to Tristan's clothing he tries to keep clean because he knows that even though he is just a stable boy he needs to keep up a good appearance. He usually wears trousers, a shirt and boots. Things that he does not mind getting dirty if it comes to that.
personality
Tristan is a rather easy going kind of a person. There are very few things that will upset him. One of the few things that will upset Tristan is if anyone hurts his little sister, Lizzie. He is very protective over her because she is his little sister and they are so close in age. They grew up practically twins, joined at the hips. Family is very important to Tristan.
Even though Tristan is protective of his sister he also tries his best not to baby her as well or any other woman for that matter. He believes a woman should be able to take care of her own lot rather than have to constantly rely on a man to do things for her. Tristan knows that these opinions are different than most of the people around him. He believes that it has to do with the fact that he grew up so isolated on the farms with his mother and sister who had to pull their own weight on the farm for it to survive. He tends to keep these thoughts to himself especially when it comes to the ladies of the Kingsgate household.
When they come around he is the most proper and well bred farm boy that he can be. He always tries to be a gentlemen in their presents. The same goes toward any other woman; he feels that they should be respected. He will not be rude to anyone even if he does not agree with their opinions. He was raised better than to be rude to someone. His mother taught him and his siblings to be respectful of people.
Tristan is the kind of person that does not do well when he is not moving. He has to be constantly busy doing something, if his hands at the very least are not moving he becomes restless. He also has a tendency to hum or whistle while he is working. He enjoys being outside in the fresh air. He would much rather be outside in the elements at all times than have to be stuck inside. When the weather is poor it does not bother him.
When it comes to relationships of the opposite sex he has little experience. Since he grew up on the farm he was fairly isolated from women, with the exception of his mother and sister who in his eyes do not count. But even though he has lack of experience it does not mean that he is shy around other girls. He can be a fairly big flirt.
history
Tristan grew up on a family farm with his parents and two older brothers and younger sister. From a young age he learned the ideals of working for what you have. He learned that the world was not going to hand you something you have to work for what you wanted.
His childhood consisted of helping his father and siblings taking care of the animals on the farm and working other jobs on the farm. When he was not doing those things he would often be found wrestling around in the dirt and mud with his brothers and sister (who herself was not afraid of getting dirty). Education wise Tristan got whatever he could from his mother and sister, who often taught her brothers. Lizzie had wanted to be a teacher from a young age so she took on the education role in the family along side her mother. Their mother was from a higher status growing up but was disowned by her family when she decided to marry lower than her status.
When Tristan was seventeen his father was in an accident and had to have his leg amputated. No one is really sure of what exactly happened his father has blocked out most of the memory, or so he says. The only details that the family knows are that it involved one of the family horses, Betsy. When this event happened Tristan decided to give up what little education he was getting and dedicate himself to the farm with his siblings. The money was tight for a while and it was looking like they were going to lose the farm despite everything that they were trying to keep it afloat.
Tristan heard that there was an opening at the Kingsgate House for a stable boy. He knew the pay would not be much but it would bring money into their house. Which at the time they were making very little as it was. He did not see the harm in getting another job while his two brothers took care of the farm. The money would be going to his family rather than selfishly for himself. He decided to apply for the job and was soon accepted based on his skills as a farmer and taking care of animals. He was able to get the job rather easily. The little bit of money that he does get from doing the job he sends home for his family. Tristan hopes to one day make it up the rankings to become a groom. He knows once he takes the position he will be able to help provide for his family better. He would rather be calling the shots when it came to how to care for the horses than being told what to do and not being able to make any of the decisions himself.
other information
-Tristan is very family oriented
-His dream is to find a wife one day and have children of his own. And to eventually take over the farm and run it on his own.

The dirt and grime of the stables were nothing to Tristan, he actually enjoyed his job very much. Being around the horses was a pleasure for him. Being around any animals was pleasurable for him. He seemed to enjoy animals slightly more than he did animals and horses especially. Sure the work was not the most desired job on the estate or even the world for that matter but he enjoyed it nonetheless. Most people would be disgusted by the constant smell of animal waste. At first the smell has not been something that Tristan enjoyed he would admit to that but he soon grew used to the smells of the stables. It was no like he was not used to being around the smells of animals. He sometimes thought that the animals smelled better than some of the humans he had met.
Shoveling animal waste was not the most pleasurable job to do in the world but there was nothing wrong with making an honest living. He was also not doing the job for himself. He was too busy making sure that his family kept their farm. All of the money that he earned went to his family. They needed the money more than he did. Lord Carmarthen allowed him to sleep on the grounds of the estate so he did not have to pay for room and board. He was grateful for that. That meant more money for his family.
"Tristan?" He heard his name being called from just outside of one of the stalls that he was cleaning. Tristan reached up and wiped with the back of his hand to brush away the small amount of perspiration that had settled on his forehead. He then turned toward the voice behind him and leaned on his shovel that he had in his hands.
"What may I do for you?" Tristan asked with a rather large smile as he saw his sister standing in front of him. The smile soon fell from his face when a thought crossed his mind. "Lizzie, what are you doing here? Is something wrong back home?" Panic shot through Tristan as he wondered if something had happened to his father.
"Oh, no nothing like that. Father is doing well. I am sorry I did not mean to worry you," Lizzie said sheepishly as she glanced down at the ground. Tristan let out the breath that he had been holding. Good, nothing was wrong with their father. Then what was the reason that Lizzie had come to visit him while he was working? "I am sorry, I know I really should not be here while you are working...it is just, that I have missed you. You have no come home in a long time. I know it is selfish of me and that it could possibly get you into trouble but I just needed to see you. If only for a few moments." Lizzie chewed on her lower lip. Tristan smirked at his sister, she did that sort of thing when she was nervous. Setting the shovel aside on the wall of the stall Tristan stepped over some of the fresh straw and pulled his sister into a big hug.
"I have missed you as well. I have not had much time to take off to come home and visit but I promise I will try my best to get home soon." Tristan said into his sister's blonde hair. He rested his chin on her head for a moment then held his sister at arms length away. "I promise I will come home to visit as soon as I am able. Now you had better head back home, it is getting late. I do not want you walking alone in the dark." Tristan's overprotective big brother side coming into play. Lizzie nodded her head at the first part and then rolled her eyes at the last. He knew perfectly well that she could take care of herself.
