Appearance
Physically Harry is not the most impressive guy out there, standing at 5'10, but he's no push over either. He has the physique of a man who earned his strength through hard work having spent much of his life either working in stables or running through farm land, without the luxuries of sports such as polo at his disposal. Another glaring sign of his status would show in his fingernails, no matter how well groomed he might be on any day, or whatever he might try, they're almost always cracked and caked with dirt, his fingers callused. Despite this he is actually well groomed most of the time, being somewhat vain, or at least enough as not to be off putting to the opposite gender.
When it comes to facial hair, with his age taken into consideration, Harry is somewhat unfortunate, and though he has tried many times to grow out a beard or a moustache it tends to never turn out well though not from lack of trying. His hair is more than a little curly, so he often prefers to let it grow to some length before cutting it and his green eyes match that of his sisters. When it comes to matters of tailoring Harry actually has some taste, tending to spend a little more than he should on a few good quality pieces than a lot on poor clothing so he can look well while out with friends, though he does have a few torn and stained shirts or trousers he uses while working, and only owns one pair of shoddy but comfortable boots he wears just about everywhere.
Personality
Harry is, and always had been and attention seeker. As a child he would always pester his mother, father and siblings to pay attention to him. Either good or bad attention was always a good thing. Though he isn't cruel by any means and seldom ever intends to hurt anyone, he does have a troublesome streak that comes from craving approval and notice. His habit for causing mischief is also attached to a curiosity, sometimes he will imagine something in his head, or find himself unable to imagine it, and cannot resist the urge to see just what will happen. Though it might make him seem brave his bravado before peers and women often leaves him suffering for their amusement, but even knowing this he finds himself repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
Unlike his sister Harry is far from level headed, he doesn't take all that much seriously, but when he does it's hard to miss the explosion that follows. Anger tends to cloud his vision when it takes him, and though the bursts are only short, when they occur their often spectacular and tantrum like. When he's sad on the other hand it's equally easy to spot as it's almost the polar opposite depending on the cause. Instead of talking back, and being the centre of attention as always, he becomes a near recluse until he gets over whatever it bothering him. Depending on how upset he is he can lose complete interest in his work.
Recklessness is another very clear trait Harry possesses, either through lack of foresight, curiosity, or peer pressure, if there is something stupid to be done he's very easily talked into it, he's even worse when alcohol is involved. He will run head first into trouble, he will get into a fight with no thoughts for the repercussions. In his world view, life is too short to spend frightened of anything, something his father proved to him, and he's still young enough to believe himself almost invincible, no matter the obstacle. On the occasion where something with go awry, Harry will be the last to admit responsibility, and he's quite apt where it comes to the blame game. Almost always believing whatever it was wasn't his fault despite the glaring evidence to the contrary.
Harry has little patience for many things, he often wants to live yesterday and worry about the consequences tomorrow, he'll try just about anything if it's within reach. The only thing that can really hold his attention is caring for animals, not horses in particular, but horses are what he was given the opportunity to be around.
History
Born to Dot and Gerald Green as not only one of the youngest in the family, but a twin, he has always, even before he could fully comprehend the subject, been an attention seeker. After all, not only was it physically almost impossible to tell him apart from his brother, but he was the baby in his family, so he always had to make up for that by being the best. Either coming up with the best games, or being the greatest pest. Quite often if Edmund, or Anna were in trouble he was to blame somehow. It wasn't that he wanted to be a brat, he just craved attention, and was a little too curious for his own good. He'd be the one to decide to make a fort of bed sheets in the cellar and end up breaking something, or he'd steal a toy from a sibling while they weren't looking, then honestly forget where he put it.
In particular he wanted attention from his father, who he idolised. When he was in trouble, his mother would be the one there to discipline him, but his father wasn't associated with anything like that in his head. In Harry's mind his father hung the moon, it's why he would sometimes sneak out of the house to join the man and his older brother on the farm, and try to help, though more often than not he got bored half way and gave up.
At the age of seven it was during one of his little adventures when he had given his mother the slip and grown bored after an offer to help his father that he had decided to explore a little farther from home than usual. Being reckless he hadn't watched his step and stumbled onto some treacherous ground, falling into a hole in the ground where he couldn't climb up out. Though he was cut up and a little hurt it was the cold and damp that were his true enemy. After being trapped for an hour in the ground he'd finally been found and his father helped him out, but he came down with a serious fever afterwards which he was lucky to have recovered from. Though it was a small event from his life he never entered the cellar again.
A year later the accident occurred on the farm which took his fathers life. Now Harry can't even remember what his father looked like, but at the time he was devastated, all his usual shenanigans ceased and for almost a whole month he was almost completely withdrawn. Eventually he moved on, but the experience has stayed with him and has coloured his later reckless behaviour.
When Lucy left them to work as a maid he didn't know what to think. Part of him was happy to see her go, but for the most part he found there was a great gap in his life where he expected people to be, and they weren't. For the next three years he filled his time feeding birds and just about any stray animal despite his mothers warnings not to, and trying to get out of helping out with any actual work. Though he wasn't the smartest, or the best behaved, he had always a way with animals, though he never had the oppertunity to really learn the skill until he was finally sent away with his brother to stay with his Aunt and uncle at Kingsgate.
When he finally had to leave he didn't want to, nor did he really understand why he couldn't stay with his mother, if they had managed that long without him leaving, why not longer? Though he'd known something like this would happen he'd never given up hope that his mother wouldn't really do it, surely sending Anna and Lucy was enough. But no, it seemed not, and he never really forgave his mother after that. Family gatherings that required him to be in the same room as his mother after that were always uncomfortable, and as time passed he only grew to resent her more for it.
Despite his hesitation and outright protest to move, Kingsgate was his first real taste of wealth, and a place teeming with opportunities. He took to the work at the stables with ease, finding a love he had not previously known for horses, and actually took enjoyment out of the work, tending to the animals, and getting to know each one. It was also the first place he really started to take an interest in the opposite gender, which quickly became a great source of trouble making
At fourteen he had his first "girlfriend" whose hand he could hold, which lasted all of a week, until they had their first argument. There was little he wouldn't do to gain a girls attention, even one he wasn't interested in, anything to make her smile or laugh, flirting and trying to impress them. Unfortunately his love life was more miss than hit.
One of the rare moments of fortune was also how he ended up getting fired. He had taken to going out with some of the other young men in the village and getting drunk, and on one of these evenings he became acquainted with good looking village girl. It wasn't long after that the two ended up in a very physical relationship. Emotionally it was't serious, but she had her reasons, and he was lonely for a particular type of company, and one thing eventually lead to another. This went on for some time, until she decided to visit him after work when he was finishing up with the stables with a bottle of cheap spirits from the local pub. The problem of course was that he had been caught.
Not only had he lost his job, but his family were furious with him. He had to plead with Lucy to not try to send him home, not only had he started to grow accustomed to the area, but his relationship with their mother had grown frosty at best. Though he didn't think his mother would take him back, he wasn't planning on taking the risk, and begrudgingly promised not to see the girl again, which he hadn't been planning on anyway after that disaster, partly blaming her for it, a promise he'd actually kept to.
As money started to run out he ended up having to agree to a job with a blacksmith, and though he enjoyed the work, it didn't fulfil him the way working with the horses had. He missed Kingsgate, and though his sister was convinced he aspired to become a footman, he would be perfectly content working with the animals, maybe even learn to ride some day, though none of which would happen if he stayed working as a smith.

Taken from a thread using Ava BrownShe wasn't staring. Who was staring? Not her. Nope! This was all perfectly normal. Nothing amiss here. Just some sandwiches, some steak and...seriously is that blood? Okay so maybe this wasn't totally normal, but she was doing her damnedest to act like everything was just hunky dory. Well, not that it wasn't, but she was fascinated by the differences, making it a challenge for her not to stare, at least a little. Though when she thought about it, considering what she had been expecting when Mrs Barton told her about the place it was surprisingly similar to her last highschool, each kid sat with their own little group, they bumped into each other just as much, and she heard more than a few passing curses tossed between tables. Other than what the students actually ate, and the whole, everyone in this room could kill you if they sneezed too hard thing, it was just like home.
Having taken a seat near the window, hoping no one would approach she ended up squished between a group of giggling girls, and some guys who looked like they were just about to head out for football practise or something. Rolling her eyes all she could do was pick at her salad and hope they stop accidentally brushing against her or squealing like a live pig on a spit. Okay, so maybe that was a little harsh, but they were really loud, and the giggling...oh god the giggling. She wasn't obsessed with personal space, but right now it was certainly being invaded, maybe it was just the nerves from being sent to a new teenage prison talking, but whatever it was, she was starting to really dislike them, and if that wasn't enough she was just waiting for her new school bully to introduce her to the schools cast system. Digging a plastic fork into her food she eyed the idiots around her and sighed. Maybe coming here wasn't such a good idea, but the other options were far from cool either.
Finally the inevitable happened, someone bumped into her and sent her lunch to the floor. Perfect, just what she needed. The girl apologised, which certainly put points in her favour, but she was certain someone had laughed, not sure who, but they did, and at her. Cursing under her breath she kicked the bowl that had held her salad, cursing softly under her breath and just left it there. She'd enough of this, she was getting out of here.
